These past months have been a challenge, and we thank you for your continued support of our residents, our community, and of each other.
We have been monitoring the impact of COVID-19 on our community, and the situation is improving. Based on state and regional criteria, advice from public health officials, and the health status on campus, we are slowly reopening our community.
On June 22nd, Friendship Village entered Stage One of the reopening process. During Stage One, daily screening, social distancing and masks continue to be required of all residents and employees, while the following activities resumed in independent living only:
- Staff-led small group activities, including group exercise classes (limit of 10)
- Modified housekeeping
- Library with limited hours and capacity
- Salon with limited operations
As you know, many residents are eager to be with their families. Depending on the level of care, limited visits are allowed through exterior fences in the Aquatic Center Courtyard and the Woodside Front Porch.
Your continued attention to the restrictions we have in place is critical to the opening of our community. Please work with your team to practice good hand hygiene and wear the appropriate personal protective equipment when needed. We are all eager to be with one another, yet we must continue to act with caution. Should there be a resurgence of the virus in our community or in our region, it may be necessary to reinstate all precautionary measures.
I continue to be grateful for the work you all do to help ensure the health and safety of our residents. With this continued effort, we can keep moving forward ahead through the reopening process.
