U.S. News and World Report annually reviews nursing homes from across the country to bestow recognition on those which score highest in a number of healthcare categories.

The Health Center at Friendship Village earned the top award for 2020-2021!

“We’re thrilled!” said Betsy Bale, Executive Director.  “It’s a real recognition of our staff, and just how hard they work to provide the very best care while keeping everyone safe and happy. Very few skilled nursing centers make this list.”

The categories reviewed for the award included:

*Nursing home ratings for Short-Term Rehabilitation Care and Long-Term Care rating.

Within these categories, US News and World Report scored the Friendship Village Health Center as High Performing, its top designation, based on our consistent Registered Nurse (RN) staffing, Physical Therapist staffing, prevention of falls, low rate of substantiated complaints, and low rate of hospitalizations, among others.

Patient safety was also reviewed, which included an assessment on the number of COVID-19 cases, the rate of vaccinations, fall prevention protocols and measures, and our zero infection control violations for the period.

Finally, the assessment reviewed government conducted inspections, during which our Health Center has consistently scored well.

“This underscores and validates the decision made by our residents when they chose Friendship Village as their home,” Bale said. “We made a promise to provide exceptional skilled care should they ever need it, and we’re keeping it.”
