With a wealth of diverse culinary experience, Chef Antonio Dascanio joined Friendship Village as Woodside’s Executive Chef and Dining Room Manager this fall. Originally from Michigan, Antonio has traveled extensively around the United States honing his culinary craft.

A graduate of Grand Rapids Community College Culinary school, Antonio has worked at Webster’s, Yarrow Golf Course and many other top-notch establishments. He is happy to be back in Michigan and is excited about this opportunity at Friendship Village.

At Woodside, Antonio is responsible for serving 240 meals a day. He offers the comfort food our residents enjoy, but with the volume turned up – preparing each meal with locally sourced fresh and flavorful ingredients. Always looking to raise the bar, you can find Antonio mingling with each resident during meal times to ensure the food is to their exacting specifications.

In his off time, Antonio enjoys mountain biking, with a goal of participating in the National 24 Hour Challenge in two years with his brother-in-law. He also likes building and fixing motorcycles, trucks, golf, and music. And, he bills himself as a bit of a “denim aficionado,” with a large wardrobe of styles.

“You never know where life is going to take you, enjoy the ride along the way.”  Chef Antonio
