Tim became the Executive Director of Friendship Village in November 2022. He has worked for Life Care Services for 36 years, most recently out of San Diego CA as a senior executive where he developed the LCS Envision strategic planning process. Tim has served in four different states in numerous capacities, including Vice President/Senior Director of Operations Management, Director of Operations Management, Corporate Operations Director, Executive Director and Administrator. Tim earned a Master’s degree in Health Administration and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from St. Louis University. He is a licensed Nursing Home Administrator having trained in the Administrative Development Program at the V.A. Medical Center in St. Louis. Tim is Past Chair of the LCS Operation’s Council, served as a Leading Age California Finance Committee member and has presented at numerous Leading Age conferences across the country.
David joined Friendship Village Kalamazoo in January 2023 as the Associate Administrator; he was promoted to Administrator in February of 2024 and Associate Executive Director four months later. Prior to joining the team at Friendship Village, David served in two different positions at South Port Square, a Life Care Services (LCS) managed community in Port Charlotte, FL. Prior to his time there, David served at Stone Ridge, another LCS managed community in Mystic, CT. David completed an Administrator in Training (AIT) program through the Professional Development Program offered by LCS; he holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Northwood University and is a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator in both Florida and Michigan.
Linda became a member of the Friendship Village management team in June of 2021 when she was hired as Director of Accounting Services. Linda earned her Associate degree from Davenport University and Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Sienna Heights University. For the first 25 years of her career, Linda worked throughout West Michigan in the grocery retail industry, first as a cashier and then as a member of the accounting team. Prior to joining FVK, Linda spent eight years as a Senior Financial Analyst with Bronson Health Systems. She is an ambitious and solutions-driven leader, having led cross-functional teams for process improvements and attainment of financial business goals.
Brittany initially joined Friendship Village as Rehab Unit Manager in August of 2017 and was promoted to Director of Nursing in January 2018. After a short break to expand her family, Brittany returned to Friendship Village in 2023. Brittany was born and raised in Battle Creek, MI and earned her nursing degree from Kellogg Community College in 2012. Immediately following graduation, Brittany worked at both Heartland Battle Creek and Bronson Hospital Battle Creek. Brittany was successful in maintaining a five-star rating during the time she served as Heartland’s Unit Manager.
Rick joined Friendship Village as Maintenance Supervisor in June 2022 and was promoted to Director of Facility Services in September 2023. Rick worked in the construction business for three years before transitioning to senior living where he has accumulated 32 years of experience. From 1990-2022, Rick served as the Building Maintenance Manager at Skyrise Apartments, a senior apartment complex in downtown Kalamazoo. Rick has proven to be an effective leader and team player. His strong suits are resident relations and cost cutting; he has proven results across in both improved time management and increased productivity.
Diana became the Director of Sales and Marketing in October 2018 after a successful three-year journey as the Director of Marketing for Woodside Assisted Living and Memory Care. Prior to coming to Friendship Village, Diana spent seven years with Ganton Senior Communities, where Reflections Memory Care achieved Gold Level status from the Michigan Center for Assisted Living. Diana has served on the Diversity and Inclusion Committee Board of the Alzheimer’s Association and has chaired the Kalamazoo Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Diana is also a U.S. Army veteran
Stephanie has been with Friendship Village since January 2004 when she joined the management team as Director of Human Resources. Stephanie earned an Associate degree from Kalamazoo Valley Community College and a Bachelor of Arts from Western Michigan University in Human Resource Management; she later obtained her PHR Certification. Stephanie’s professional experience began as an Administrative Services Representative with Imagyn Medical Technologies and continued as Human Resource Assistant and then HR Manager at HCR ManorCare.
Ashley began her role as Director of Woodside Assisted Living in March 2019. She was hired as a Charge Nurse at Woodside Assisted Living in October of 2009, and prior to her promotion to Director, served as Assistant Director of Woodside Resident Care from 2015-2019. Ashley earned her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse from Lake Superior State University in Sault Ste. Marie in the spring of 2009. She is also a dementia education instructor for the FV staff.
Raegan joined the management team as Director of Resident Services in October 2016. She began her career at Friendship Village in 2007 as a caregiver at Woodside Assisted Living; she was then promoted to Receptionist, Assistant to the Administrator and Resident Liaison before becoming a director. Before coming to Friendship Village, Raegan worked at Bronson Methodist Hospital as a Phlebotomist. She has extensive knowledge and experience about dementia and how the disease affects seniors.
Teresa came to Friendship Village in 2009 as a Life Enrichment Assistant and later became Volunteer Coordinator and Supervisor of the front office staff. She was named Director of Administrative Services in October 2016 and added the Life Enrichment and Transportation staff to her team in 2023. Teresa has an Associate degree from Kalamazoo Valley Community College and many years of administrative and management experience, including work at The Upjohn Co., L.A. Stewart Presentations, and Hasbro, Inc. Teresa served on the Board of the Kalamazoo Municipal Golf Association for 12 years and was Secretary for six.
Ryan joined the Friendship Village leadership team as Culinary Services Director in July 2020. He began working in the food service industry at the age of 14 and oversaw the kitchen by the time he left for college. While working toward his commercial pilot’s license at WMU, Ryan progressed through the ranks at Applebee’s and became General Manager following graduation, discovering his true passion of developing people and building teams in the process. After 12 years at Applebee’s, Ryan became a multi-unit manager for a growing company in Grand Rapids. There he oversaw multiple brands and assisted or directly oversaw the opening of three locations and eight acquisitions. Ryan has received various awards throughout his career, mostly related to providing exceptional guest service through high performing teams.
