Soon, they’ll be able to turn lights on and off with their voice. Control their thermostats.
And, if they wake in the night, soft lighting will automatically come on to light their way to the kitchen (or bathroom).
We have partnered with Caremerge Inc., the nation’s emerging leader in interactive web-based and voice-activated technology for senior living communities, to offer convenient and instant access for residents to campus happenings. Caremerge also offers a social media connection for residents (like Facebook, but limited to only residents).
In addition, we’re pioneering new apartment technology to link our independent living apartments with our hospitality, maintenance and health teams to ensure the best possible, and quickest, service and security.
Residents view announcements, campus events, menus and a host of other information simply by signing in to Caremerge Community Engagement for Friendship Village on their smart phone, tablet or computer. This same information is also available by voice commands through Village-provided Amazon Echo Dots.
With 70 percent or more of our Independent Living residents actively using computers, smart phones and/or tablets to communicate with friends and families, they already have a working knowledge of how technology impacts their lives.
