We are searching for a part-time Activities Assistant for Woodside Assisted Living! The Activities Assistant is responsible for implementing a varied scope of activities and recreation, which covers intellectual, spiritual, physical and cultural stimulation for residents.

Essential Job Duties Include:

  1. Implements and provides resident-centered programs. Carry out a program of activities which will provide entertainment, inter-communication, exercise, relaxation, opportunity to express creative talent and fulfillment of basic psychological, recreational, spiritual, educational, social and physical needs.
  2. Escorts residents to and from activities and special programs.
  3. Maintains accurate documentation of residents’ status and responses to programs.
  4. Attends in-services training and education sessions as assigned.
  5. Performs specific duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Activity Director including, but not limited to: assisting residents with mail (opening and reading), performs 1 on 1 resident activities, charts and documents 1 on 1 visits and activity attendance, assists with out of building activities.
  6. New resident evaluations to be completed care planned and filed within three (3) weeks of resident move-in.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High School diploma required.
  2. Effective communicator.
  3. Good interpersonal skills.
  4. Flexible time commitment to include evenings and weekends.

Maintenance Technician

Maintenance is responsible for maintaining all aspects of the physical plant. Conducting, under supervisor direction, preventive maintenance, routine servicing, seasonal repairs and changes, building equipment and plumbing repairs. This is a full-time position with some weekend and holiday requirements.

Grounds Crew

Friendship Village is hiring a Grounds Crew member to help keep the grounds looking beautiful! The grounds crew is responsible for all aspects of the grounds and the equipment used to maintain a presentable grounds appearance.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

• Assures that the grounds are well groomed and free of trash, debris and hazards.

• Assures that walkways are clean and clear of hazards.

• Trims, prunes and shapes various trees, bushes, shrubs and plants, as directed by the supervisor.

• Responsible, during winter, with snow removal efforts.

• Ability to work with and combine efforts of other staff members, and occasionally residents, as situations arise.

• Maintains outside water lines and equipment as necessary.

• Accomplishes all work in the order of priority set by supervisor.

• Maintains the appearance of outdoor signs, parking lot lines, center road lines and direction of travel indicators.

• Maintains all tractors, mowers, snow blowers and other outdoor vehicles and equipment in good working order.

• Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid Driver’s License and at least 18-years of age to use mowers

• High School diploma or equivalent. Ability to read, write, perform basic arithmetic and speak effectively. Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions in English.

• Landscaping or Grounds experience preferred but not required.

Friendship Village is searching for an Environmental Services Supervisor. This position provides supervision of environmental services staff and input to the Director of Facility Services regarding training, orientation, staffing levels, hiring, disciplinary actions and improvements to the operation of the Facility Services Department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Performs as the leader of assigned teams working cohesively with other department leadership.

2. Direct Supervisor of Housekeeping, Floor Care and Laundry Departments

3. Inventory Control in cooperation with FS Coordinator, Maintaining Paper & Chemical Supplies.

4. Assigns and Monitors Work orders & Housekeeping work assignments throughout the building to assure they are being handled in a timely manner.

5. Develop Work, Vacation, On Call schedules, & Staffing assignments

6. Develop & Coordinate Housekeeping Plans & Routine Cleaning Schedules to ensure total facility cleanliness.

7. Work with the Nursing Leadership to assure that cleaning requirements are handled in the appropriate time frame and all regulatory requirements are completed.

8. Deals with contracted labor and monitors their performance as directed.

Qualifications:

Comprehensive knowledge with the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Microsoft Excel.

Must be able to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively and perform simple arithmetic.

Associates degree preferred, high school diploma required.

Minimum of 2 years experience with basic technology and chemical use.

A minimum of 2 years previous experience with Environmental Services and supervision. Must have demonstrated leadership ability within a hospitality or building maintenance setting.

Server/Wait Staff (Part-time)
Friendship Village is looking for part-time servers in their Food and Beverage Department. The server is responsible for table service in the Community Dining Rooms.

Essential Job Duties :

  • Sets tables and maintains work stations in proper order.
  • Takes orders, provides service and requested items both graciously and courteously.
  • Clears dishes from tables during and after meal service.
  • Answers pertinent questions about menu items.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English and communicate effectively.
  • Experience waiting tables in a hotel, restaurant or club with fine dining preferred; will train.
  • Ability to interpret and explain menu, refer or answer questions, coordinate meal service process and understands requests.
  • Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor and peers. Requires courtesy, tact and graciousness.
