Community Marketing Specialist
The Marketing Specialist works in accordance with specific instruction from the Director of Sales, and creates and executes all day-to-day activities involving marketing and communication efforts for Friendship Village.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Collaborates with the Director of Sales, and marketing directors of each community, to execute the annual comprehensive marketing strategy for FVK – including the website, online community, events and membership programs.
  • Works with Director of Sales and Event Planner to plan and market events.
  • Manages the relationship between FVK and contract agencies to get assets developed and see projects through development to execution.
  • Provide marketing tools for Sales which can be utilized to help grow the client relationship.
  • Works closely with each community within FVK to coordinate marketing strategies, advertising and communication schedules.
  • Manages the corporate Website with fresh content, new offers, event promotion and to ensure a dynamic experience for the user.
  • Develops, coaches and leads FVK staff with respect to marketing-related items.
  • Ensures community is “show ready” at all times by collaborating with Facility Services to identify areas that need improvement and confirm projects are completed.
  • Achieves financial objectives by creating and adhering to annual budget, managing expenditures, analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions.
  • Weekly, monthly and quarterly IL sales reports.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Knowledge and expertise in traditional, digital and social media marketing.

2. Organizational and attention to detail skills necessary.

3. Good communication and customer relation skills are essential.

3. Experience with basic computer skills: Word and Excel (Power Point an added benefit).

4. Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills and have the ability to feel comfortable making phone calls.

5. Must be able to solve problems and make educated decisions.

6. Must have the ability to work independently with self-discipline and self-motivation.

7. Must enjoy working with the senior population.

Human Resources Assistant/Recruiter
Friendship Village is Kalamazoo’s Premier Senior Living Community. We are searching for a Human Resources Assistant/Recruiter. The Human Resources Assistant/Recruiter is responsible for assisting the Director of Human Resources with the planning, coordinating and administering of the personnel activities for Friendship Village, including recruiting, orientation, training, policy administration and file management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates degree in business administration.
  • Three years of previous experience in a recruitment role.
  • Knowledge of employee on-boarding, training, education, orientation, compliance and regulations.
  • Must be able to handle a multiplicity of routine tasks
  • Ability to communicate efficiently using proper grammar in a pleasant manner.

Accounting Assistant

We are searching for an Accounting Assistant! The Accounting Assistant is responsible for monthly billing and performs clerical support duties and assists the Director of Accounting in the day to day coordination and operation of the department.

Essential Job Duties Include:

1. Compiles and inputs data into the computer for billing. Maintains file with accurate monthly back-up information. Reconciles to General Ledger monthly. Interfaces Accounts Receivable to General Ledger.

2. Inputs data into the computer for Medicare Part A and B claims.

3. Maintains logs for Medicare Part A and B.

4. Bills secondary insurance for Medicare Part A and B claims

5. Reconciles assigned General Ledger accounts.

6. Responsible for resident trust accounts, balancing and sending quarterly statements to responsible party.

7. Inputs and posts Health Center cash receipts.

8. Maintains spreadsheet for monthly cash balance.

9. Assists with payroll functions.

10. Keeps up to date on Medicare Skilled Nursing Facility Billing Procedures/PPS Billing.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High School diploma with significant experience in an accounting department.

2. Effective communication skills, with the ability to tactfully serve the residents and their families.

3. Have initiative and ability to work with a team. Flexibility with change in a fast-paced environment.

4. Ability to work with demanding deadlines.

5. Detail-oriented and possess excellent organizational skills.

6. Experience in long -term care preferred.

7. Experience with Medicare and billing preferred.

Dishwasher/Utility Worker

Friendship Village is searching for full and part- time Dishwasher/ Utility Workers to work in their Dish Room. The Utility worker performs a number of kitchen activities including dishwashing, pot and pan washing, general cleaning duties, and storing food and non-food supplies. The Utility Worker is responsible for removing dirty dishes and garbage from dining rooms and employee break room. They also assist with tray assembly and delivery.

Cook (Full-time) NO LATE NIGHTS!

We are searching for a full-time Cook for our main kitchen. Must have day time and weekend availability, shifts would be 8 hours long and have every other weekend off with no late nights! Wages start in the $12-14 range depending on years of experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees including medical, vision, dental, 403b with matching, life insurance and short-term disability along with resident sponsored scholarship opportunities and tuition reimbursement.

The Cook is responsible for preparing and serving meals to the residents in accordance with the posted menus.

Cook Essential Job Duties:

  • Completes production sheet for each meal.
  • Prepares and portions desserts, salads, breads, and beverages for meals..

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • High School diploma required. Must have the ability to read, write, and speak English, understand measurements, make basic conversions, perform basic arithmetic, and follow basic oral and written instructions
  • 1 year of professional cooking experience required

The Charge Nurse is an RN/LPN who is responsible for the overall nursing care/service on his/her shift, including the accurate and timely administration of medications, treatments, documentation and emergency calls, as indicated.

Essential Job Duties Include:

1. Supervises staff on shift.

2. Administers direct nursing care .

3. Makes routine rounds to assure proper care and a safe, clean environment.

4. Assures accuracy and completeness of medical records.

5. Responds to emergency calls as necessary.

Must be a licensed LPN/RN in the State of Michigan.

Caregiver/Resident Care Assistant
Friendship Village is searching for part-time Caregivers/Resident Care Assistants for Woodside Assisted Living full-time and part-time on 2nd shift and 3rd shift. NO MANDATION! The Caregiver/ Resident Care Assistant assists the licensed nursing staff by performing routine nursing duties such as taking and recording vital signs. Caregivers assist the residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, eating, toileting and exercising. Wages are based on experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:

•Must be at least 17 years old.

•Prior geriatric care experience is preferred but not required.

*Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicates effectively, and perform simple arithmetic. Ability to document care given. Good assessment skill

•Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs frequently and 50 lbs occasionally.

•Must be able to stand/walk for up to 70 percent of the work day.

*Experience working with dementia preferred

Essential Job Duties include:

  • Assists residents with dressing, grooming, eating, bathing, positioning, turning, toileting and exercising.
  • Gives treatments, performs tests, carries out procedures and collects specimens as instructed.
  • Reports and records observations and results of treatments, tests, procedures and specimens when indicated.
  • Transfers, transports and escorts residents as needed.
  • Answers signal lights promptly.
  • Changes bed linens, makes beds and keeps rooms clean and orderly.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Successful completion of a State approved geriatric nursing assistant training program. Prior geriatric nursing aide experience is preferred. Must be currently certified or testing soon..
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English and communicate effectively

 

Server/Wait Staff (Part-time)
Friendship Village is looking for part-time servers in their Food and Beverage Department. The server is responsible for table service in the Community Dining Rooms.

Essential Job Duties :

  • Sets tables and maintains work stations in proper order.
  • Takes orders, provides service and requested items both graciously and courteously.
  • Clears dishes from tables during and after meal service.
  • Answers pertinent questions about menu items.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English and communicate effectively.
  • Experience waiting tables in a hotel, restaurant or club with fine dining preferred; will train.
  • Ability to interpret and explain menu, refer or answer questions, coordinate meal service process and understands requests.
  • Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor and peers. Requires courtesy, tact and graciousness.
