PRN Charge Nurse (RN/LPN)
Friendship Village is Kalamazoo’s premier Lifecare community. We are searching for a Charge Nurse for our Home Health Office on an as-needed basis! The Charge Nurse is an RN who is responsible for the overall nursing care/service on his/her shift, including the accurate and timely administration of medications, treatments, documentation, and emergency calls, as indicated.

Essential Job Duties Include:

1. Supervises staff on shift.

2. Administers direct nursing care.

3. Makes routine rounds to assure proper care and a safe, clean environment.

4. Assures accuracy and completeness of medical records.

5. Responds to emergency calls as necessary.

The Utility worker performs a number of kitchen activities including dishwashing, pot and pan washing, general cleaning duties, and storing food and non-food supplies. The Utility Worker is responsible for removing dirty dishes and garbage from dining rooms and employee break rooms. They also assist with tray assembly and delivery.

We are searching for a full-time Cook for our main kitchen. Must have daytime and weekend availability, shifts would be 8 hours long, and have every other weekend off with no late nights! Wages start at $16.00. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees 

The Cook is responsible for preparing and serving meals to the residents in accordance with the posted menus.

Cook Essential Job Duties:

  • Completes production sheet for each meal.
  • Prepares and portions desserts, salads, breads, and beverages for meals.

QUALIFICATIONS :

High School diploma required. Must have the ability to read, write, and speak English, understand measurements, make basic conversions, perform basic arithmetic, and follow basic oral and written instructions

1 year of professional cooking experience required

Friendship Village is searching for full-time and part-time Certified Nurse Aides. The Nurses Aide assists the licensed nursing staff by performing routine nursing duties and activities of daily living. 

Essential Job Duties include:

  • Assists residents with dressing, grooming, eating, bathing, positioning, turning, toileting, and exercising.
  • Gives treatments, performs tests, carries out procedures and collects specimens as instructed.
  • Reports and records observations and results of treatments, tests, procedures, and specimens when indicated.
  • Transfers, transports, and escorts residents as needed.
  • Answers signal lights promptly.
  • Changes bed linens, makes beds, and keeps rooms clean and orderly.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Successful completion of a State-approved geriatric nursing assistant training program. Prior geriatric nursing aide experience is preferred. Must be currently certified or testing soon.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English and communicate effectively

Friendship Village is searching for part-time servers to work in their Food and Beverage Department. The server is responsible for table service in the Community Dining Rooms.

Essential Job Duties :

  • Sets tables and maintains workstations in proper order.
  • Takes orders, provides service, and requested items both graciously and courteously.
  • Clears dishes from tables during and after meal service.
  • Answers pertinent questions about menu items.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English and communicate effectively.
  • Experience waiting tables in a hotel, restaurant, or club with fine dining preferred; will train.
  • Ability to interpret and explain the menu, refer or answer questions, coordinate meal service process, and understands requests.
  • Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisors, and peers. Requires courtesy, tact, and graciousness.
