Career Opportunities

Laundry Aide
The Laundry Worker is responsible for carrying out the normal activities of the laundry, including washing, ironing, folding, sorting, etc. of clothing and linens.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Collects, cleans, irons, and redistributes the Community laundry.
  • Ensures that all laundry is properly sorted, washed and dried according to each resident’s preference.
  • Ensures that the laundry is maintained in a clean, orderly and sanitary condition.

Other Duties:

  • Maintains all equipment and supplies in proper condition.
  • Accomplishes all work as requested by the resident.
  • Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.
  • Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to process and maintain multiple loads of laundry at a time, while keeping each resident’s laundry separate from others.

Certified Nursing Assistant (part-time)
The mission of Friendship Village is to facilitate vibrant senior living in a Life-Care Community, and our vision is to have a community where people want to live, work, and visit. Friendship Village is looking for Certified Nurse Aides part-time on 1st shift (8 shifts per pay peiod). The Nurses Aide assists the licensed nursing staff by performing routine nursing duties and activities of daily living.

Essential Job Duties include:

  • Assists residents with dressing, grooming, eating, bathing, positioning, turning, toileting and exercising.
  • Gives treatments, performs tests, carries out procedures and collects specimens as instructed.
  • Reports and records observations and results of treatments, tests, procedures and specimens when indicated.
  • Transfers, transports and escorts residents as needed.
  • Answers signal lights promptly.
  • Changes bed linens, makes beds and keeps rooms clean and orderly.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Successful completion of a State approved geriatric nursing assistant training program. Prior geriatric nursing aide experience is preferred. Must be currently certified or testing soon..
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English and communicate effectively
Caregiver (part-time)
The mission of Friendship Village is to facilitate vibrant senior living in a Life-Care Community, and our vision is to have a community where people want to live, work, and visit. Friendship Village is searching for part time Caregivers on all shifts in our Assisted Living setting.

The Caregiver assists the licensed nursing staff by performing routine nursing duties and assists residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, ambulating, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 17 years old. Prior geriatric care experience is preferred.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicates effectively, and perform simple arithmetic. Ability to document care given. Good assessment skills

Server/Wait Staff (Part-time)
Friendship Village is looking for part-time servers in their Food and Beverage Department. The server is responsible for table service in the Community Dining Rooms.

Essential Job Duties :

  • Sets tables and maintains work stations in proper order.
  • Takes orders, provides service and requested items both graciously and courteously.
  • Clears dishes from tables during and after meal service.
  • Answers pertinent questions about menu items.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English and communicate effectively.
  • Experience waiting tables in a hotel, restaurant or club with fine dining preferred; will train.
  • Ability to interpret and explain menu, refer or answer questions, coordinate meal service process and understands requests.
  • Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor and peers. Requires courtesy, tact and graciousness.
PRN Charge Nurse

We are looking for experienced and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) or Registered Nurses (RN) to join our Health Center team on a PRN basis. The Nurse is responsible for the overall nursing care/service on his/her shift, including the accurate and timely administration of medications, treatments, documentation and emergency calls, as indicated

Essential Job Duties :

  • Supervises direct care of residents and nursing personnel on his/her shift.
  • Administers direct care as necessary.
  • Gives and receives shift reports.
  • Keeps physicians and families aware of changes in resident’s condition.
  • Updates Residents care plans as residents’ status change and physician orders dictate.

-Current LPN/RN licensure in the State of MI required
