Friendship Village Holds Job Fair During Covid-19 Pandemic

Friendship Village held an onsite, outdoor job fair on Thursday, September 10.

Interviews were conducted onsite with the Directors of the departments job seekers were interested in.

Socially distanced precautions were followed.

Over 100 people registered for the Job Fair, and Friendship Village was looking to hire 10 to 20 people.

While virtual interviews are effective, face-to-face (while masked) interviews are beneficial for both the applicant and the employer.

According to Ken Greschak, Director of Fund Development at Friendship Village, “while virtual interviews are a reliable way to hire during the COVID-19 pandemic, he said you can only do so much.”

“You really can’t get a feel for the applicant and the applicant can’t really get a feel for the organization and whether or not they want to be here. And they can actually come here be on site, meet their supervisor and colleagues. It just helps the entire process move faster for everybody. And if they can except an offer here on the spot and we are interested and they are interested you know everybody wins,” he said.
